Janvier Murairi is the President of ASSODIP, a not-for-profit organization based in eastern Congo that undertakes research and advocacy programs in support of rural populations in the North Kivu province. Janvier has particular expertise in the range of socio-economic and security impacts of the mining sector on local populations. He has participated in the meetings of the OECD-ICGLR-UN Group of Experts in Paris and in Kigali on due diligence and Conflict Minerals. He is also Acting Executive Secretary of a coalition of 11 Congolese anti-slavery organizations, and an advisor to ADECOP. Janvier holds a university degree in legal studies
